I really had a hard time falling asleep last night. Not for any particular reason, but just that I couldn't fall asleep. I've been up many nights lately not being able to get comfortable and mostly I've been sleeping on the couch. But last night I don't know what my problem was. I watched all kinds of meaningless things on TV and then about 3am I decided I should attempt to head up to my bed and get some sleep, when I heard Taryn crying. Taryn never wakes up in her sleep and the one or two times that she has she isn't ever crying. I had a good idea what the problem was and wasn't looking forward to dealing with it.
We have been potty training Taryn for the last week or so and she's been waking up dry almost every night for the last week so we decided to chance it and put her to bed in her underpants. So when she started crying I new she had wet the bed! hgh! Now if I haven't shared this with you before, I HATE POTTY TRAINING! I think it is the most frustrating, infuriating part of parenting! Taryn has been doing really well though. She doesn't have many accidents during the day (as long as we're constantly reminding her) she can stay dry for a long time, but we've been putting her down for her naps and bedtime with a diaper on just in case she goes poopy. That part she doesn't quite have down yet. Olivia did really well with the pee thing too and has only wet her bed 2 times in her entire 4 1/2 years of life. Now the poop thing we had issues with. What is it with kids and pooping in the potty!
Anyway, I trudged upstairs and poor Taryn was so sad and was like "can you clean it mommy?" so I grabbed her out of bed and stripped her and her bed down. It was cold and she was wet so she was shivering. Her diapers were downstairs and I debated whether or not I should give her a bath at 3am. I decided against that and took her downstairs with a clean pair of jammies. I wiped her down with a wipe and put on a diaper and the snuggliest pair of jammies I could find. Then we sat and watched some wedding thing on TV together (this couple spent 2 million bucks on their wedding!!! can you believe it!). I kept hoping she'd fall asleep but she didn't, so at around 4 I decided to turn off the TV and try to fall asleep with her on the couch. She then asked to go back up stairs to her own bed. So I grabbed her and Beau's spider man blanket (hee hee!) because she had no clean blankets and I took her upstairs. She went down really easily, but reminded me to take her yucky blankets and clean them. :) So I trudged back downstairs and put them in the laundry, so she would have clean sheets for the next day. I finally climbed into bed about 4:15 and probably fell asleep around 4:30. I got a good 3 hrs of sleep before the girls needed to be fed. What a night! I think we'll hold off on the underpants at bedtime for a little while. I guess I should just get used to no sleep thing since I'll wont be getting any here in a few days!

This was me last week!! I swear I couldn't fall asleep. The weird part was that after only a few hours of sleep I'd get up for the rest of the day and be WIDE AWAKE?? It was sooo strange! I did this for like a week straight! I guess it's all part of that nesting stage? Hopefully it means things are coming soon!! :)
I am sorry you couldn't sleep--I hope it's gotten better! I've been in the same boat, but I want to sleep! The bedding I've had to change was for a stomach bug that's attacked all of us. Good luck in your final weeks!
I am so with you about potty-training! So annoying...especially at night. Gracie's been accident free for months but I am still way to scared to do it at night since she doesn't sleep much anyway--Don't want her to wake up wet at three and be up for the day!! And can I just say how jealous I am that your baby ticker says you only have 2 weeks left!!!
