Pink Pancakes and Shots!

Olivia wanted pink pancakes for her Birthday breakfast, so that's what we had! Later that day we went for her 5 year well child visit. I knew that she would need to get some shots because she would be starting school this year. Well if anyone knows my child she is afraid of EVERYTHING and I knew exactly how she would react to shots. So I wasn't sure if I should tell her ahead of time or wait until we got to the drs. office. I opted to tell her in the car on the way there and she was not at all happy about it. I explained that she needed to have them before she could go to school and afterwards I would take her and Taryn to McDonald's for an ice cream. She still wasn't too thrilled about the idea, but seemed to take it better. She did well at the visit. They checked her hearing, eyes, developmental levels and all the regular stuff. Then it was off to the vaccination room! The nurse thought it would be better to have her lay down on the table then have me hold her. She asked me if I was going to have to hold her down, um yep that was definitely gonna happen! So I held down her upper body while the nurse held her legs. Olivia screamed and screamed and the first shot she got she screamed even louder saying, "that was a bad one, that was a bad one!" I have to confess that I must be the worst mom ever because the whole time I was laughing so hard! She was completely a drama queen! She stopped crying right after, but she limped down the hall. 2 shots in each leg! What a trooper!

Don't you love shots? I just mention the word and Julia is in hysterics. I try to reason with her, saying shots only hurt for a second and that's better than being sick for a week. But she doesn't get it. I can't say I blame her, though, I'm a wuss when it comes to needles. Seriously - I get all woozy and clammy. A total loser.

We have to do the same mcdonalds ice cream bribing and Kaylee still throws a fit! Grace just sits there and says they don't hurt, but with Kaylee you would think they are cutting her legs off!
