Emergancey Room Visit
We had quite a scare yesterday! The girls and I were at the YMCA (where I work) and all the staff kids were in the hall having their snack. Everyone had finished up besides Taryn and so my friend Lynette and I were hanging out in the hall chatting while she finished up. She had been sitting at the end of the table and earlier she had been pushing her feet of off the table leg and making her chair rock backwards. I had told her to stop or I was going to make her get down. She didn't listen to me and did it again, but I (stupid me) didn't make her get down because I wanted her to finish up eating. Anyway, so I had my back to her chatting with Lynette when all of a sudden we heard this LOUD noise, metal hitting tile. I turned around and there was Taryn lying on her back! She had let out a small cry and I immediatly ran to her and picked her up and put her on my shoulder. She wasn't making any sound so I was telling her to breathe (you know how some kids hold their breath when they are cying so hard) I pulled her away from me to look at her and she was completely limp in my arms like a rag doll! She was unconscience and at that moment I started to panic! My friend immediatly rushed into the office and told someone to call 911. I was heading down the hall when one of the Y members told us he was a paramedic and told us to take her in the back office and lay her down. At this point she was awake and crying some but still a little foggy. The 911 operator said that it was good that she was crying and she didn't cut open her head at all so there was no blood. Once the paramedics got there (and boy where they cute:)!) they checked her over said she seemed fine but because she had been knocked unconscience they wanted her to get to the hospital right away! She was not compeletly acting like herself, but didn't seem to be to upset. By the time we got to the hospital she was doing much better, but the Dr. ordered a CT scan anyway just to make sure. They tests came back fine, THANK-GOODNESS!! She's been doing well since then. I brought her home and gave her some tylenol and she had a long nap. She's back to her old self again! Running everyone ragged! Taryn is our little bruiser and this isn't the first serious fall that she's had, but it is the only time she's been knocked out. She of course didn't learn her lesson though as we were waiting for our friend to come and pick us up from the hospital she was climbing up a bookcase!!!! She had everyone watching out for her today though and making everyone really nervous! That's our Hurricane Taryn for you!
