I have been waiting for all of the test to come back before I update everyone on Taryn's issues :). Most of you know that she has had a diahrea problem since she was about 4 months old. The Drs. finally decided to do some tests on her since the problem wasn't getting any better. The tested her for several things, including Cystic Fibrosis and a Mal Absorbtion problem. Thankfully she tested negative to both of those, but she did test positive for a bacterial infection in her intestines that is called C-Diff. They said is was probably caused from the antibiotics she had to take when she had Thrush (1 month old) and for all the ear infections she had prior to us getting the tubes in her ears. So my poor baby has had this infection since she was just a few months old. It was really hard to take her to get the tests done. Especially when she had to get her blood taken. I'd never heard her cry like that before! Anyway the corse of treatment was a ten day (3x a day) medication that was horrible! It was such chore to give her the medacine because it tasted so horid! Beau and I had to both hold her down and she still spit it out. We had her retested and thankfully her tests came back negative! That was on monday.
She's also been having a runny nose that wont turn off and still those nasty dark cirlces under her eyes. I've suspected for quite awhile now that she has allergies but no one will test her because she is too little and the tests could come back inconclusive, which I totally understand, but it is really hard to see your baby so uncomfortable. She's had the tubes in her ears which have prevented the ear infections and her Adnoids have been removed but she still has this runny nose, so I took her to the dr. yesterday (by the way the girls pediatricians name is Michael Jordan!!) and she has a sinus infection. So after getting her all clear from the C-Diff we had to put her back on an antibiotic that might bring back it back. The only thing I am greatful for is that the dr. puts her on a different antibiotic everytime (that lessons her chance to become imune) and that isn't always their first form of treament. They also finally gave me some allergy medicine for her so well see if we can clear up the dark circles under her eyes (also known has allergy shiners).
I was talking to my mom last night and she told me that when I was little I had so many sinus infections that I almost had to have surgery to clear them out, but they started to get better just before I was to have the surgery. The things we pass down to our children. Taryn is doing really well considering all of this, she is still her crazy little self! But I'll tell you I sick of having to collect poop!(we had to collect it for some of the tests) It's really gross! Beau had to do it once and I thought he was going to hurl, it was actually really funny because I was at work and he was on the phone pleading with me to wait until I got home so I could do it. I love him!
Olivia is doing well to, her asthma has been really good since we have her on the inhaler twice a day. Her skin is still the same and she is so excited to being turning 4 next month. She can't hardly stand it. We are having Princess Tea Party and she asks every day if today is the day for her tea party! It's going to be really cute I've already started on the decorations and they are turing out really pretty. I definately make sure to post the pictures.
