Stawberry Pickin'

The girls and I went with some friends today to pick Strawberry's. We had such a fun time. It didn't take too long to fill up two buckets with big, red, juicy strawberries. I ended up with about 10 lbs. I spent the rest of the afternoon, washing, coring, chopping, mashing and dipping them. I made a batch of freezer jam, froze some and made the ever yummy chocolate strawberries. I still have a bunch left, which I will probably make into more jam and maybe a strawberry pie or shortcake. I still would like to go back and get more before the season ends. Yummy!
Taryn would run down a row with one berry to put in my bucket and then go back for another, too funny!

Batch #1 all washed and ready to mash.
Batch #2 getting a scrub down.
don't they look so scrumptious!

How fun and delicious! I need to take notes on how industrious you are in your home with 3 little ones...it's amazing if we get out of the house...let alone make jam!;-)
