Here's a short conversation I had with my girls this morning. Beau had already been up and had given Taryn Kix's for breakfast. Then Olivia comes downstairs.
L-"Olivia what would you like for breakfast Special K or Kix?"
O- something mumbled and inaudible
L-"I didn't hear you, Special K or Kix"
O-"Cake"
L-"Cake! are you crazy? You're not getting cake for breakfast, Special K or Kix."
O-laughing "I'll have Kix"
T-"mommy after I'm done, can I have somethin' else?" This comment usually refers to yogurt or a fruit.
L-"sure"
T-"okay, I'll have M&M's!"
L-"um, I don't thing so! No one is getting cake or M&M's for breakfast!"
T-"Why not?!"
L-I'm not even gonna respond to that one! :)
I love my kids, they are always trying to scam treats out of me!

That is so funny. What a cute conversation.
I was reading an article, it might have been today.. anyways, it was saying something about how they had sent their kids to their grandparents and that they had given them all kinds of treats, so when they came home, that's all they wanted. The advice, which I thought was good, was: If you are going to give a treat, give it to them with a meal and limit it to once a day until you can teach them (and they understand) the difference between food and desserts.
I was at my friends house and was noticing how much treats they were feeding their kids (I count pop-tarts in that category) and it's now wonder they were bouncing off the walls and not wanting to eat their dinner.
It's funny the things come up with, I can't wait to hear what Blake comes up with.
