My Time of Year!

As much as I love the fall, I would have to say that Thanksgiving Day really is the most exciting for me. Mostly because it's the day that the Christmas Season really begins. We had such a really nice Thanksgiving Day, starting with watching the Macy's parade. As a kid I loved watching it every year and dreamed of the day when I could actually see it in person. My wish came true about 8 years ago and I would love a chance to go back and take my own kids. I have to say that this is the time of year that I really start missing New York. The holiday's in Manhattan are just a magical time for me and I grow a little nostalgic and reminiscent of my years on Long Island. I love the Holidays and my girls (especially Olivia) seem to be getting just as excited as I get and it is so fun to watch.
Beau invited a friend and his wife from the Sector over for dinner (they were also stationed on the boat together) and then my friend Brook and her kids came over for dessert and a game. We had a wonderful dinner, the Turkey came out so yummy, but unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures of dinner. We had such a nice spread and dessert was just as delish!
This year I didn't get up and brave the crazy shopping, mostly because I am 8 months prego and I didn't want to go by myself. But also because there really wasn't anything I really felt I needed that was on sale. But the idea of all that shopping still excited me and I think I woke up at 3:30 excited for all those that were braving the madness!
We did go out as a family on Friday though and pick out a tree! We did a little shopping with the girls and then came home and put the tree up along with all of the decorations around the house. I wish I had more, so I just collect a few things here and there every year and hope to one day have buckets and buckets of Christmas decorations (Beau I'm sure is thrilled about hearing that!). The one thing I don't have that I just can't seem to find one I love enough to buy is a nativity scene. I've seen a few that I like, but not one has just jumped out at me and made me want to buy it. I am always keeping my eyes open though. The only picture that was taken on Thanksgiving (and Beau took it!). Sweet Sisters!
The pictures are a little out of order, but this is Olivia helping to decorate. Taryn wouldn't stand still long enough for a picture.
Looking for the perfect tree and playing hide and seek.

We found it! A little shorter then I would have liked, but really pretty anyway.
