Busy Days

What a whirlwind we've had over the last few weeks! It all began with a phone call from my Mother-in-law on the19th of October. She'd went in for an MRI because she'd been having headaches since she was a kid. Anyway, they found a tumor in her brain that had been growing for 10 years. They were needing to do emergancy brain surgery within a week.
Beau was still out on the boat and I can't tell you how hard it was to sit down and write him that e-mail. He ended up calling right away and the then the process started. We needed to get Beau off of the boat so we could all fly up to New York to be there for the surgery. I had to call the Red Cross and get my Mother-in-Law to have her Dr. talk to them. Then Beau had to talk a military plane from the Bahamas home so we could fly up together with both girls. It all worked out and we were able to get up there the day of they surgery. Mary Ellen (my mother-in-law) is amazing! The tumor was benign and she is recoverying so quickly other then the staples in her head (which have since been removed) you'd never know she'd been through brain surgery.
My sister-in-law and her husband and son flew in from China (they are missionaries there). It was amazing how the whole family came together. It was a sad thing to bring us together, but it was so nice for all of us to be there. We stayed with his oldest sister and it was so sweet to see all of the cousins play together. They are all close in age. Gabrielle is the oldest at 10, but she is so good with all of the little ones. Kiernan 7, Preston 4, Olivia 31/2, Abraham 3, Ashlyn 22 mo, and Taryn 18 mo. So as you can see with the ages they were so cute together. Taryn kept us all on our toes like usual and Olivia loved being in a place where she could play all day outside.
I came home earlier then Beau did, Olivia came home with me on the 30th and Taryn stayed with Beau until the 1st. Beau took the Taryn Trick-or-Treating with all of the other cousins, up in New York and I took Olivia down hear with some friends. I have pictures, but Beau lost the connection from the camera to the computer so when I find it I'll attach those.
After getting home Beau was home for a few more days and then he had to go back to meet the boat in Key West just to come home few days after that. It didn't make a lot of sense to me, but a lot of things don't make much sense to me when it comes to the Coast Guard. He's home now and we are happy that he is. The girls especially are excited for him to be home. Taryn can't get enough of her daddy. She hugs his leg and says "My Daddy!" it's really cute.
