Well it's been almost 2 months since my last entry. Time just gets away from me when I'm busy. I'll try to get you all up to date. Beau came home early May and the very next day we left to go to New York for vacation. We drove up and while some of you may think we are crazy for attempting that with two little kids, they behaved so well!!! Taryn had a few moments when she got really sleepy, and Olivia was just happy watching her movies ont he DVD player. (thank the lord for that invention!!)
We had a wonderful time in New York attending a cousins wedding and celebrating Taryn's 1st birthday along with her Cousin Abraham who turned 3. Of course the one thing I left at home was the camera so I didn't get any pictures! Thank-you to everyone else who did :)! Taryn fell down the basement stairs the day before the party and skinned up her nose pretty good, poor thing! Two months later she still has a mark on her nose. My parents were able to come over from PA and it was nice to have them there. On the way home we stopped in Savannah, GA for Mother's Day. It was beautiful, but we didn't get to spend much time so we're planning a trip to go back one of these days.
I started a job at the YMCA when we got home and that has been keeping me busy. I work 4 mornings a week and the girls come with me. It has been good for them to interact with other children, but now they just seem to be sick all of the time. I love that I get to have them with me, but working in the mornings leaves little time for our other friends we used to have play dates with.
Taryn has had a lot of ear infections in the past year and so her peditrician sent us to an ENT Dr. who determined that she need tubes in her ears. And after an x-ray of her neck alse determined that her adnoids were enlarged and she'd need to have them removed along with the tubes. She had her surgery last week and is doing great! She went into the surgery with a double ear infection and a very snotty nose. Her ears have been draing the last week and and her nose has cleared up dramatically. I'm so happy she is doing so well. She is our little trooper!
Olivia hasn't had a problem with her asthma since her last attack, but she has been sick this last week. She's doing better now, but I am so sick of cleaning up throw-up! The wonderful things we has mother's must deal with. I can't just say it's been me Beau has been helping a lot!
Beau has been pretty busy at work, it seems that we don't see much of him. He's home and that is great but he really isn't AT home much. He leaves again July 5th and will be gone for 50-some odd days. It is hurricane season though so who knows when he might be recalled and have to take the boat out.
So is our life these days, I promise to be better at keeping this up and for sure when Beau leaves I will be on top of things more frequently. This is how he keeps informed.
Have a wonderful day!
